Pair of vintage Model 2078 wall sconces by Pierre Disderot for Ateliers Disderot, produced in France circa 1959.

Each sconce combines a simple brass structure with an opaline glass diffuser, creating a balanced composition characteristic of French modernist lighting from the late 1950s. The rounded opaline shade contrasts elegantly with the geometric brass arm and circular wall plate.

The opaline glass softly filters the light, producing a warm and evenly diffused glow. The brass has developed a beautiful natural patina over time, giving each piece additional depth and character while preserving the clarity of the original design.

With their compact proportions and timeless silhouette, the Model 2078 sconces work equally well as bedside lights, in a hallway, or as architectural accent lighting.
