Important pair of vintage Perzel Model 1120 Holophane glass wall sconces, produced in France during the 1950s.
Designed with the exceptional construction quality associated with Maison Perzel, the Model 1120 combines a refined metal structure with substantial prismatic Holophane glass diffusers. The glass beautifully refracts and distributes the light, producing a warm, soft and subtly prismatic illumination.
The metal has developed a particularly beautiful natural patina, while the glass remains in superb condition. The precision of the assembly and the quality of the materials give these sconces a strong architectural presence while retaining an understated and timeless silhouette.
The Model 1120 remains referenced in the Perzel catalogue today, a testament to the enduring character of the design. Original examples of this model are not signed, making the specific construction and catalogue reference important elements in its identification.
A collectible example of French lighting design that has remained remarkably modern across the decades.
