Pair of vintage Modernist wall sconces by Henri Petitot, produced in Paris, France, in the early 1930s.
Each sconce combines a refined chrome-plated brass structure with frosted glass diffusers and clear glass rods. The contrast between the polished metal, softly frosted surfaces and transparent glass elements creates a sophisticated architectural composition characteristic of French Art Deco lighting.
Produced by the Établissements Henri Petitot, the design reflects the transition between Art Deco and French Modernism, with its geometric construction, refined materials and timeless proportions. When illuminated, the different glass elements interact with the light, creating a soft, diffused glow and subtle plays of reflections.
The sconces are designed to be installed directly over an existing wall-mounted bulb. They are secured to the wall with two hooks, with the bulb positioned beforehand at the electrical outlet. There is no integrated socket or wiring within the sconces themselves.
A third matching wall sconce is also available, offering the possibility of creating a larger architectural installation.
