Pair of rare vintage adjustable wall sconces designed by Étienne Fermigier, produced in France during the 1970s.
Crafted from anodized aluminum, these sconces feature a refined architectural structure combining clean geometric lines with an ingenious adjustable mechanism. Their minimalist design reflects the functional and innovative approach characteristic of French modernist lighting.
This rare model is distinguished by its chrome pull handle, present on one of the two sconces, while the other features a version without the handle. This subtle variation adds an interesting detail to the pair.
The construction offers two independent adjustments: the diffuser rotates on one axis, while the arm pivots on another, allowing the light to be directed with precision. This versatility makes the sconces particularly practical for both decorative and functional lighting.
A beautiful example of Étienne Fermigier's work, combining technical ingenuity, elegant proportions and timeless design.
