Vintage anodized aluminum wall sconce designed by Guy Bertrand for Disderot and produced in France in 1969.
Composed of a geometric anodized aluminum structure, the sconce features a minimalist and timeless design built around clean lines, precise proportions and overlapping shapes.
When fitted with a silver or gold-capped bulb, the light is reflected indirectly across the aluminum surfaces, creating beautiful plays of light and shadow while emphasizing the architectural geometry of the piece.
Both sculptural and functional, the sconce has a strong decorative presence even when switched off. Its restrained construction and indirect lighting beautifully reflect the modernist approach of French lighting design at the end of the 1960s.
