Pair of vintage "Kvadrille" wall sconces designed by Bent Karlby for the renowned Danish lighting manufacturer Lyfa during the 1950s.
Considered one of the most important figures of post-war Scandinavian lighting design, Bent Karlby developed a distinctive architectural approach to light, combining innovation, material experimentation, and sculptural simplicity. The Kvadrille model perfectly embodies this vision and remains one of the most iconic examples of Danish modern lighting from the period.
Built around a refined geometric composition, the design plays with layers, depth, and transparency to create a subtle interaction between light and structure. Beyond the primary illumination, the material itself softly captures and reflects the light, producing delicate graphic effects and a warm atmospheric presence across the surface of the wall.
Both minimalist and highly sculptural, these sconces possess a remarkable visual lightness while maintaining a strong architectural identity.
A highly collectible pair distinguished by its innovative lighting concept, timeless geometry, and exceptional Danish design heritage.
